Co-operation: Bavaria spare parts at SVBPhoto: SVB
From the instrument panel to the rudder blade: spare parts from Bavaria now at SVB
Owners of boats from Giebelstadt now have better access to original parts. The offer is just starting, but still has some teething troubles

Spare parts for Bavaria yachts are now available online in the SVB shop. This is not so interesting for a winch crank that has gone overboard, as these are available everywhere. However, as soon as special parts break, such as an instrument panel or the teak grating of the cockpit floor, owners are dependent on original parts. For example, the foot railing on a Bavaria always comes from Pfeifer Marine, but it is a version specially made for the shipyard that is not available anywhere else. According to SVB, there are also rudder blades on offer.

So far, however, the ordering process is still a little cumbersome: From SVB, interested parties can access a link to Bavaria Plus. The boat type can be selected there and the corresponding parts added to the watch list. This list can then be saved in PDF format and sent to SVB by e-mail. However, the processes are still being worked on at the moment to make them simpler.

It is also proving particularly complicated for the shipyard to trace which parts were used on older yachts. The search does not yet reveal complete spare parts lists for all models. Here, too, improvements are to be made. If sailors cannot find the spare parts they are looking for in the shop, they can send a photo to SVB. Experts from the chandlery and shipyard will then try to find the right part based on the picture.
